Somber SightsThere's a lot that can be seen in eyesSomber Sights by AdmPlatypus
So many stories to tell
So much can be told through the look in one's eyes
That's why I love to look at one's eyes when talking to someone
Not only is it courteous, but you see so much more in the conversation than what they are telling you
Though of course it is important not to become entranced by the look in one's eyes
For you might not listen to what they are saying at the time, and that is quite rude
Or perhaps it is what they are not telling you that is more important
Maybe it is what only their eyes can truthfully speak
That is what truly needs saying
So for example
If you see someone with eyes half closed
Remember some ideas if you care to think about it
For half closed eyes may not be very interesting to read
Especially if you don't like the act of reading
But at times they can tell some rather somber stories
Half closed eyes can mean many things
If one's eyes are half closed,
Perhaps there is not much to see in those eyes
Perhaps there i
My Final RegretsThere was a wonderful cake in front of me, covered with candles of all sorts of bright colors, lit and sparking like the trick candles you love so much. So much fun to blow out, aren't they? It's more fun when it's a challenge, especially nowadays. There are balloons all around the room, floating up with strings tied to the chairs that line the long table of which you are sitting at one end. The room is full of cheerful laughter, joy and celebration. Why are we celebrating again? It's my birthday, oh yes, of course. Let's all sing the Happy Birthday song now!My Final Regrets by AdmPlatypus
"Happy Birthday to you~! Happy Birthday to me~! Happy Birthday dear Johnny~! Happy Birthday to you~!" And before you blow out the candle you think to yourself a wonderful wish at which you can't help but smile as it goes through your mind. You smile at the triumph of blowing out all the candles with relative ease. It's getting more and more difficult to blow out the candles each year isn't it? Now it's time for you to cut the cake
Our Sense of SelfIts what makes us human. Our Sense of Self by AdmPlatypus
It's what gives us the will to dominate other life.
We above all others have the greatest sense of the self.
Our enormous population, grown due to the individual's need to be remembered and to have a hand in the world.
Our success, created by the need to advance and achieve to give ourselves an award or a symbol of merit.
Our endless want, fueled by this need to achieve and the sense of self. Our animalistic instinct to feel as if we are significant.
We above all others have the greatest sense of self-awareness.
We, who reproduce like rodents with long life.
We, who make us-proclaimed "inferior" forms of existence our slaves.
We, who tinker with the very fabric of existence.
We, who call science a great achievement, when we are putting our countless hands in the way of nature and it's plans.
We who make our own meanings to things that otherwise would only have its original, natural meanings. We take lives and give excuses as to why we, who have no known superi
That's How It Seems To BeWhy is it that uniqueness and independence are both things that people take pride in, yet everyone seems to want someone else to think just like them? That's How It Seems To Be by AdmPlatypus
I suppose thats how friends are made. When someone finds someone else that shares a common belief or trait, they get along better, because they think alike. A connection that seems hive-like.
Though, if a nonsensical belief system is shared, and it is not understood, yet it still connects people, is it the same?
That's how it seems to be.
That's the harsh thing about uniqueness. It's the loneliest trait you can think of.
Just as it is a lonely trip, the descent into madness and insanity. Nobody else understands what you know and see, except you. Nobody is there with you on that trip. Nobody but you.
Is that what it means to be truly unique? True loss of mind, yet keeping the self? Is that what it means to be unique? To take the lonely, dark, unknowable journey? The one where everybody that goes down it goes a different path?
That's how i
